CBDT has introduced a revised grievance redressal framework through Local Committees to review taxpayers’ complaints against high-pitched scrutiny assessments. The Committees examine unreasonable additions, procedural violations, incorrect application of law, and failure to follow principles of natural justice, ensuring fair and reasonable assessment practices.
