CBDT has prescribed the format, procedure, data structure, and validation rules for SFT-2518 reporting of mutual fund transactions by Registrar and Share Transfer Agents.The framework supports pre-filling of capital gains in tax returns and requires half-yearly reporting, taxpayer reconciliation, data corrections, and information-security controls.
